Philippe Jacques Laurent Aveline in Yelapa

Philou Day 4
By Philippe Jacques Laurent Aveline
The day I met Silver.
First we got up and had the car washed , which we do everyday because it is black. We went to breakfast at Abbache de cabello, where Tatiana had her Quincenera last year. It is very typical food, and there are no tourists there, only local people. Electra told me I would have things I had never even heard of. I didn't even know what she was ordering, sopes, gordas, and flautas. They were all really delicious. I love trying new things. Then we went to El Centro to Talapaque Paque, where I got some things to take to Montreal, that are from Jalisco. Then we went to meet Electra's friend Silver, they have know each other for 33 years. Silver is by far the coolest 80 year old I have ever met in my life. As soon as I walked into her house I was tripping, it is so unusual, it's like a movie scene. They have used her houses for lots of movies actually. It's a 5 story house with black walls, floors, furniture and bathtubs. It has a lake in the living room with ducks in it and hands coming out of the walls holding lights that look like torches. There are rugs made of a pattern of tile and fireplaces with mantles and molding and columns it's very funky and cool. Lots of huge plants and ferns and the bedrooms have vines that are coming in from outside all over the ceilings and over the beds where you sleep. There is a swimming pool on the 5th floor, with a beautiful view of Puerto Vallarta. After a few hours of laughing and talking we left to have dinner at Tsunami, where we loved the Volcano Roll. Then we went home and watched a DVD and I fell asleep happy to be in Vallarta.

In the morning we went to Tutti Fruti one of Electra's favorite places. We had the chicken tacos, which have red sauce that is so amazing, and liquados of papaya with milk and Guava with water. I can see why Electra is so crazy for them. The owner was very nice and gave me a bottle of the sauce to take with me to Montreal. Everyone here is so nice.

Then we drove to Punta Mita, I love the little towns everywhere, and the chicken cooking in the street. We went to see some friend's of Electra's Joan and Gordon Edwards but they were out of town. The guard at the gate at The Four Season's called them and they said to let us in so I could see their house. It was truly a dream house. It's called Casa Juanita and it is all-open and you can see the greens of the golf course and then the whole Bay. It has beautiful art work and decorating. It was an 8 star house !! Then Electra took me to see her other friends that live in shacks. What a difference just a few feet away, totally different worlds.

We went To El Dorado at Anclote on the beach and had great ceviche tostadas and shrimp tacos while we got henna tattoo's. We have real ones, but we were just having fun! I had a bracelet woven for my Mom to take back to France, with her name "Chantal" on it.

On the way home we stopped by the Go Kart Track and met Franky the owner, he's from Spain. I build Go Kart Tracks all over the world so we had a lot to talk about. We met some people from Bucerias that race their little model cars on the kid's track. They looked like they were having a good time. Electra and I went out to test the track, I planned on beating her very badly, but she beat me the whole time until the end when she let me catch up to her and I beat her. (She had a better kart). She never used her brakes at all, she had sandals on and she said they were falling off and she couldn't break if she wanted to. When I went racing Porsche's at the big track at Willow Springs in California with her, I almost beat her my first time in a car. (I had been racing Go-karts my whole life in France though, and she hadn't). Anyway, her friends from the racetrack told me I'd better not beat her, if I wanted to live in peace and love. I think she knew not to beat me at Go Karts since, she knows I'm faster than she is in karts. So I won and we went home peacefully.

I made pasta with my "secret tomato sauce". When we broke up once years ago, all she wanted was the recipe, which I never gave her. Tatiana and Talulah had a friend over who said she was 6 and ¾, and loved the salad I made. She said, 'Are these hearts of palms? I just adore hearts of palm." She also ate 4 plates of my pasta.

Then we watched a DVD and I fell asleep, happy to be in Vallarta.

I woke up. Thank God. Electra and I went to Nikki Beach, she is some sort of celebrity and has a "black card", I'm not sure what it means but she jets around the world to all of their parties. She just got back from the opening in St. Tropez. Anyway, I think it is a great concept all this white and lying around on beds with trays. I think I will copy it in Montreal; it is the sincerest form of flattery. The music is very cool and relaxing. We had the Sunday Brunch, which was amazing, and lasts from 11-3pm, we ate all day. Sushi to Eggs Benedict. Alejando our waiter brought us lots of great drinks, and we just lounged. I talked to Fernando the Assistant Manager for quite a while because he had lived in Montreal. Electra made me go in the ocean with her in her giant polka dot tubes. She is still mad about our trip to Hawaii where I wouldn't go swimming with her and the dolphins. Then we rented jet skis and went out to race in the water, she again had a faster jet ski, and was beating me badly. We put on a little show in front of the beach, weaving in and out like we were braiding the water, looking like crazy maniacs.

We came home and took a "siesta" and then got ready to go and get Silver for dinner at Café de Artistes. I almost trashed Electra's Jag on Silver's so called "street". This is not called a street where I come from. We were on my last big trippy adventure in Vallarta because it's my last night in Vallarta. Café de Artistes is really beautiful with teardrops of glass hanging like wind chimes. We had French food to get me ready for my transition from Electra's favorite tacos (she has a lot of them) to going back to Montreal. I was hoping to meet the owner Thierry and speak some French but he was out of town. Electra did her "flash" thing at a table of girls from LA, who came to celebrate a birthday. They loved my Paisley pants, Electra said I "had" to have, when we were in Miami last month. We had a really nice dinner with Silver, everyone knows her and no one pays any attention to Electra when she is out with Silver. Electra doesn't seem to mind, although it's not "normal" for her. I told her one day she will be the new Silver, she said worse things could happen.

We were full of great food, we took Silver home, and we went home and watched the same DVD I'd been watching all week, because after 5 minutes I fall asleep, happy to be in Vallarta and sad that tomorrow I will be leaving.
